I would love a YourStory machine to bind my own small memory books. My favorite scrapbook projects are the ones I make for a special event, such as a vacation, and the YourStory would be perfect for that. It would also be the perfect accessory for my cricut.

My family does a yearly like yearbook, a photobook, for everyone as a christmas present but could only do so many. I’d use the laminator/binder to make these presents for a lot more people than we could afford to get the books made for with those photo companies.

I have a home daycare and often wish I could laminate some of the more “special” projects we do. I also have a 3 year old grandson that LOVES to look at his pictures, and if they were laminated, I wouldn’t have to worry about him ruining them as quickly.

I am volunteering at a home for children who are in foster care but do not have a foster family yet. I am planning to do a monthly Birthday party for the kids (many of them have never had a Birthday Party).
I would love to use this product to preserve the memories of the party for the kids. As they move on to their foster families, it will be a happy memory for them to take to their new home. Heaven knows they don’t have much to take when they go into the foster care system, and being able to bind and laminate the books will keep them sturdy no matter how often the kids must move; a treasure that will last their whole life.
My budget is tight in giving the parties, since I hope to give each child a meaningful present. So winning this product would also help me do something a little nicer for the kids that I probably otherwise would not be able to afford.
Thanks.

Having a Yourstory Laminator would help me bring out my creative side. I live in the country surrounded by wildlife and don’t like to go outside. My husband and I are expecting a baby and would love to show off cute pictures, and funny stories. I have a cricut and use it endlessly for gifts, cards, mini scrapbooks, and so forth. These will be in my family as long as they can! Thanks!

There are so many things I could do. There’s alot going on in my family right now. My oldest son joined the Army and has been away for a year now. My oldest daughter has had her first child, a beautiful little boy. As my children grow older and begin to have lives of their own, now would be the perfect time to be able to make them scrapbooks and photo albums that they can have to share our most precious memories with their children and loved ones. My youngest son in still in Elementary school and it would be great to be able to bind all his drawings he makes for us in to a book that he can have when he’s older.

I would love one but money being as tight as it is I am not able to buy one. I would use it to preserve all my mothers (and those before her) papers and the story she wrote when she was in high school for my grandkids. Think of the historic value of seeing things like this from your ancestors. Everything from Great Grandpa’s citizenship papers to the story of what it was like growing up and going to school during WWII.
It would also come in handy for use for myself and my grandkids (three are homeschooled). I can use it to do my own papers and memories as well as use it for the children’s work and/or stories. My granddaughter (12) wrote a story about a raindrop. I definitely would use it for that. It is the cutest story….
These would be the main reason I want one and would use one although I can think of many others where I would use it too but for the sake of space I won’t list them all.
Thank you for entering me in a chance to win.

What a great opportunity! I would use the YourStory Book Binder and Laminator in my classroom. I teach 6th grade Communication Arts in a very rural school district. With the economy hitting us hard, funds are very limited for supplies in the classroom. I purchase a lot of my own supplies to help the district spread what funds are available, to other much needed areas. My students would love to bind their writings in a book and this machine would be perfect. I can’t imagine the look their faces if I had the opportunity to tell them we will be making a professional looking book with their personal narratives. Thank you for the opportunity to enter this contest!

Once , my husband and I sat down and together came up with a story for our grandson about the birth of our grandaughter. I did all the illustrations and we sent off and got the book illustrated and presented this book to my grandson at the birth of his little sister. Now years later they BOTH read the book and know it by heart. They will keep it for their children and we would LOVE , LOVE, LOVE to have a Your story to do this for all kinds of other family events.

As the program director of Delaware Operation: Military Kids, I work with youth that have a parent deployed. As a way to stay connected to their parent, we encourage them to keep a journal and a photo album so that they can share with their parent what they have missed in the 1 to 1 1/2 years they have been deployed. The youth also learn how to cook so that they can help their parent at home so this could also be used to preserve their recipes they learn how to make, to make a scrap book to document their year and to make a journal documenting their year. The deployed parent could also make a book that he/she can read to the youth via video so they can play it when they are lonely and missing the parent.

I have looked at these online and would love to have one. I am raising my two grandchildren and the younger one (9) is always bringing home drawings and stories that she wants me to keep and this would be a great way of preserving them for her as daddy cannot be in her life right now and we lost her mom when she was just a baby. I know years from now when she is grown this would be a wonderful way for her and her family to remember and also to preserve our pictures of mom for her. I would love to have a your story laminator to preserve all our happy times. I have started scrapbooking for this reason but this would be even better.

In 2005, my twins, boy and girl, graduated from High School. I would use the Yourstory to create my own yearbook of that time. Also, in December of 2008, I started dating a wonderful guy after being single, and not looking, for 10 years. I would use the Yourstory to scrapbook and bind the hundreds of pictures I took of us during that first year.

I am a speech pathologist who works with kiddos with autism. I often make homemade interactive books and social stories with Boardmaker…with this I could take it a step further and “preserve” the books for the kids to use year after year. We also do job training with the older kiddos so I could make their job sequences in a “book format” so they could take it with them…the ideas are really brewing

I am getting my first Cricut today!! I am so excited and ready to put it to use. I am a teacher and think the YourStory book binder would allow me to do wonderful things in my classroom. I teach health classes to high school students and have already thought of the possibility of allowing the students to make story books on health-related topics (like handwashing) to take and read to elementary students on Read Across America day!! Thanks for the info. on the website.

There are so many reasons I’d love to win a YourStory Book blinder and laminator but I’d have to say the greatest reason I’d love to win it is for my best friend. She introduced to me the world of scrapbooking, card making, cooking(the healthy way), exercise, making gifts that are more personal & meaningful instead of store bought that doesnt have much thought behind them… and the list goes on of all that she does. So what makes her so special and worthy to win it? When her husband got laid-off from work, she stepped up and worked 3 jobs while still tending to two young children at home. She was obviously has a hectic schedule but what does she still make time for? Loving, encouraging, and caring for people through crafting. Even with her busy schedule, we’ve taken on the opportunity of ministring at a teen girls home by making unique cards for them every month. Without a dependable home life, these cards make all the difference to these young girls. So her crafting, scrabooking and cards aren’t just a hobby for her- it’s a way to help, inspire and encourage others. What a difference she makes and with this YourStory book binder, I know she would even give of herself more by using it to make a difference in someone’s life by giving to them in some way. Perhaps an even more personal reason that I’d like to see her win it is because she could use it for a cookbook/recipe binder. She is constantly searching for new recipes that are healthy and ones her kids would eat. Because of her growing recipe collection that desperately needs to be organized in a book, she has helped me to lose over 70lbs. And she’s lost 60lbs herself. Again, I can’t even begin to put into words the difference she makes with all of her projects and all that she does. But by helping and inspiring me to lose 70lbs with all of her healthy recipes, she’s basically helped to save my life. Everyone in life needs to have purpose and everyone wants to feel like they’ve made a difference in the world somehow, someway. My best friend, Amanda, has made a difference to so many just by giving and making so many things for others just to make them feel special & brighten someone’s day. By getting me involved in helping her, not only has it made a difference to others but has had a tremendous impact on my life. Thru her, I’ve truly learned the meaning of the phrase, “love isn’t love until you give it away”. So, I can’t think of anything greater than to win the YourStory Book Binder and be able to give it to her as a way of giving back to her like she gives of herself day in and day out to her family, church, others and me.

Also, I am a leader for ‘Faith Kids Club’ and would like to make books for the kids to sign in it. just like a year book! Have pictures inside with the whole class. Oh, the possibilities. I take pictures throughout the whole month of my daughter, I have ever since she was born. I would LOVE to make books of every month of her. I get them made through a website once a year of the whole year and I just love them.
To be able to make them myself, I would do one for every month of the year. That would be a great present to hand over to her once she is older.
Right now I do scrap them all in a scrapbook for her.
Wow, all the things I could do with a YourStory Laminator!!

I can think of SO many uses for YourStory Book Binder and Laminator. I am a scrapbooker and would love to be able to make my own photo books to give as gifts, as well as make small occasion books for my children. I have 2 sons and a daughter and all 3 of them scrapbook as well. My daughter is also a “project queen” and aspiring writer so I would use it to preserve her projects and bind her stories. I am also looking to get back into teaching this Fall when my youngest starts school and I can think of a gazillion ways that I could use this in a classroom. Thanks for the opportunity!

I would also use it to protect their artwork and special cards, letters, and notes we have gotten from family and friends over the years. We also make calendars every year for the grandparents and this would make it so much easier and cheaper!

Thanks so much – this is wonderful!

I adore scrapbooking. My parents have also recently caught onto the craze! I think my passion comes from the fact that my parents have “lost” so many memories and are now frantically trying to recover them (everything from family trees to pictures of them in their youth). Some were lost due to disasters (fires, lack of money, etc), and others were lost just because they didn’t know that they would one day want to reconnect with these times in there lives. As more they are able to uncover these things, it would be a great treat to help them scrapbook and permanently perserve these memories and pass them down through the generations. Not only would YourStory help with that, but it would also make it easier to duplicate “hard copies” so that they can be shared with others.

14. Feb, 2010
Not only would this be useful as a personal item for scrapbooking projects with my Mom, but it would be extremely useful in my classroom. With a bunch of fifth graders, we could really “Publish” their writing. We also do several history projects, and I think that would be awesome to create a book of the things that we have learned throughout our history units. Not only would this be something that they could look at throughout the year, but it would also be nice for the next class to have as a reference! I would love to be able to use this throughout my classroom; however, that would not be the only place for it. I working on setting up a tutoring summer program for students with severe and profound disabilities, and being able to create my own books, or “how to” guides for these students would be absolutely amazing. I could modify them for what the needs are of the students, and allow new materials into the classroom that are specific to my students AND at a reading or ability level for them to really make good use of. I know these aren’t all scrapbooking reasons, but I use my cricut constantly for school related things, and I’m always looking for ways to help enhance my classroom and the learning of my students! Thank you for a great contest!

I would love to open a small business doing things like scrapbooks, wedding annoouncements, party invitations, etc and I think I could really use something like this. Also, my husband and I have a photography business and I could make calendars for the couple using pictures from their wedding, also a keepsake scrapbook. I would love to own one of these laminators so that I could take my ideas to the next level.

I would love it to make my crafts accessible to my three little girls. I would like to be able to preserve the pristineness of paper crafts yet not lose on the fun of sharing it with those little sticky fingers that somehow always manage to -putting it nicely- “enhance” my crafts
I’m also thinking about some homemade nighttime stories… it would be perfect!
